Seventh Name : İZ

A word, a writing, sometimes a line... Just as words that leave a trace in our lives resist against time, the works carrying those traces are now embarking on the same journey. Esma collects the traces within herself in the Iz Collection. A legacy to her daughter Nil, like a compass.

Esma Dereboy has curated past works left to us in the form of a collection named 'IZ'. She presents elegance and quality to all art enthusiasts. With her relief technique in ceramics, Esma Dereboy carries the traces of the past into the present. Her unique products in different colours and forms reflect traditional Turkish culture through the use of turquoise in the colour combination of vases and bowls adorned with Mevlana poetry. The prayer legacy of Hz. Mevlana is meticulously engraved on vases and bowls of various forms using Esma Dereboy's distinctive technique, thus bringing the legacy left in the past to the present.

Rudyard Kipling penned his poem 'If' in 1895 as advice to his son before his passing. Using the aging technique, the meaningful poem of the British poet has been inscribed on a bowl and vase, imbuing them with a historical texture.

‘' If you can keep your head when all about you

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;

Rudyard Kipling, vefat etmeden önce oğluna nasihat olarak ‘if’ şiirini 1895 yılında kaleme almıştır.Eskitme tekniği kullanılarak tarihi bir doku verilen kase ve vazoda İngiliz şairin anlamlı şiiri işlenmiştir.

‘' If you can keep your head when all about you

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

But make allowance for their doubting too: ’'
